6th PANNONIA CONGRESS OF PATHOLOGY
May 18 – 21, 2022 Tále – Low Tatras, Slovakia
Dear participants, dear friends and colleagues,
it is my pleasure to welcome you at the 6th Pannonia Congress of Pathology in the middle Slovakia, region Tále, in the name of the Slovak Society of Pathology, Slovak Division of the IAP and my home Department of Pathology of the Comenius University Jessenius Medical Faculty and University Hospital in Martin.
The world-wide COVID-19 pandemic caused that the congress scheduled originally for May 2020 had to be twice postponed. Thanks to the understanding of societies of pathology and IAP divisions of all traditionally involved Pannonian countries the congress now becomes a reality.
You may understand that to revitalize repeatedly the congress was not easy. The spirit of friendship and collegiality, of mutual understanding and support allows to meet now again in person in spring of 2022, after previous 2018 congress in the Czech Republic,.
The diseappearing pandemic restrictions and the situation both in Slovakia and in your countries makes this congress safe from the side of the health care situation and may allow to participate everybody interested in the main two topics set for the congress Hematopathology and Pathology of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas. Traditionaly, the main topics part of the congress are preceeded by two pre-congress meetings focusing on the pulmonary and GI-tract pathology and then followed by the final resident´s slide seminar. The congress program covered by experts in different segments of modern pathology and excellent invited speakers offers exchange of experiences by using modern technologies and approaches.
Such a congress would be impossible without a financial industrial support. Allow me to thank to all our sponsors helping us to become this congress real and at the same time allowing us to include into the program interesting educational partner´s symposia. At the same time allow me to gratitude the ESP subsidizing grant to support participation of our young colleagues, the residents and PhD students. My thanks go also to the organizing agency Tajpan preparing the necessary and comfortable support.
Dear friends, I hope you may enjoy the traditional friendly spirit of the Pannonian congresses, to meet again with friends and colleagues and to open new collaborations and friendships, to find the congress program professionaly attractive and to enjoy the beautiful nature of the central middle Slovakia, in the Low Tatras, in the region Tále.
And please, allow me to say that my and your countries we all are supporting Ukraine and its people in their war for democracy and against the aggressor. At this moment, we citizens of Slovakia are not feeling unsafe, but I would like to express my hope and believe that this grisly war will be stopped soon what might also contribute to the 6th Pannonia Congress of Pathology atmosphere.
I wish you a great time in Tále,
Lukáš Plank, chair of the Local Organizing Committee
